At Kaizen Baby, our journey began with a deeply personal experience. It all started when I found myself three months postpartum, navigating the profound joys and unexpected challenges of motherhood during the COVID-19 pandemic. The birth of my daughter amidst such uncertain times marked the beginning of a transformative chapter in my life.

Like many new mothers, my postpartum journey was marked by highs and lows, including grappling with severe Postpartum Depression and Anxiety. Returning to my corporate sales job after just 12 weeks was daunting; the pressure to excel both as a mother and an employee felt overwhelming.

However, it was a pivotal moment when my daughter was around 7 months old that sparked the inspiration for Kaizen Baby. Watching her determined attempts to crawl, despite slipping and falling repeatedly, I realized there had to be a better way to support her developmental milestones. I had seen various types of crawling knee support for infants in the past, but I envisioned something even better—why not incorporate it into a footie, the very outfit my daughter wore every day? The perfect blend of comfort and function, designed to help her thrive as she explored the world!

Thus, Kaizen Baby was born. The name "Kaizen" resonated deeply with me during my search for a meaningful brand identity. Derived from the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement through small, incremental changes, Kaizen encapsulates the essence of childhood itself — a journey of growth from rolling over to crawling, walking, running, and beyond.

After a couple of years, filled with valuable lessons learned from starting a business, taking on a new job, and welcoming the birth of my second child, I am finally ready to share Kaizen Baby with you.
